Continual research and study are key to the advancement of any field. Within the dental world experimental studies and research papers are put through a peer review process to ensure that published articles are of the highest quality and therefore able to provide benefit to the practitioner. Reading and learning from these papers has always been a part of my professional development but I have also held the ambition to be a contributing researcher in the field of Endodontics. In that regard, I am proud now to be able to say that I have contributed, a paper of mine has been published in the International Endodontic Journal exploring the removal of root filling materials. I hope this will be of great use to all dentists and for it to be the first of many other papers.
